JOB DESCRIPTION - ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

High Level Description: The Account Executive will serve as a direct link between BLU Networks and its clients.  The position will operate in a sales capacity, securing new business and maintaining customer relationships, while reporting to the Director of Engineering & New Business.

Company Overview: BLU Networks Consultancy Limited is a leading provider of Network Communications Consultancy within the Small and Medium Enterprise space.  The company has been in existence for 8 years and has already accumulated a significant customer base and a solid reputation for delivering sound solutions and an exceptional customer experience.

Position Summary: At BLU Networks, the Account Executive is a business-oriented position that is focussed on developing relationships with customers, identifying leads and working with the Engineering team to identify the proper solution to move those leads to closed sales.  The Account Executive will be supported by the Engineering Team with respect to designing and proposing the actual solution to the customer.  Though the position is primarily business oriented; we believe that having some technical knowledge and understanding will definitely be an asset.

The key duties of the position are as follows:

  • Lead Generation – the Account Executive is responsible for working with potential and existing customers to understand their problems and identify any leads that can potentially be converted into a closed sale.
  • Building Customer Relationships – the Account Executive is responsible for working directly with the customer to build trust and an in-depth understanding of their environment and issues.
  • Revenue Generation – this role will be evaluated based on meeting an identified quota or revenue target which will be set by the Directors.  The Executive’s main objective will be to generate revenue to achieve or exceed the identified sales target while ensuring that the customer’s best interest is served.
  • Execution of Sales Strategy – similar to the sales target, the Directors will define a sales strategy which will be executed by the Account Executive.
  • Sales Forecasting – the Account Executive will be responsible for preparing sales forecasts which will feed into the overall sales management framework.
  • Presentation of solutions to customers and prospective customers of BLU Networks Consultancy Limited.  This will involve the use of presentations, face to face customer meetings, webinars or other available technologies.
  • Constantly participating in recurring training and development initiatives to ensure that the Account Executive is properly equipped with the knowledge necessary to identify and discuss solutions with the customer.

Skills: Customer Service Oriented (ability to directly interface with customers), Problem Solving, Sales Experience, Self-Motivated, Ability to work with no supervision and must be a Team Player.

Qualifications: Degree in Business, Information Technology or related field, at least 1 years’ experience in sales or similar position.

Position Summary: At BLU Networks, the Network Engineer role is part of the Engineering Team which is led by the Director of Engineering and New Business.  The Engineering Team at BLU Network is the Team that is responsible for the delivery of the solutions that continues to create competitive edge for the company.  The Network Engineer is more than a resource; this role epitomizes what we at BLU Networks sees as a true, well rounded and qualified consultant.  This position will be fully technical and will also be required to work in any of the four critical parts of the opportunity cycle: customer engagement, solution design, implementation and support.

The Network Engineer MUST be capable of engaging customers and gathering their business requirements, following up with a solid solution design, presenting this design to the customer and once successful, working as part of implementation team to deliver the solution to the customer. To ensure consistent and professional delivery of the duties, the Network Engineer will be subject to a stringent technical training programme which will form part of the performance objectives for the position.  The end result will be a well-rounded individual that is both business and technical oriented, that can add value to our customers’ business.

The key duties of the position are as follows:

  • Meeting with customers to solicit solution requirements that will form the basis for the solution design.  This may involve face to face meetings, presentations, conference calls or basic emails.
  • Design of network communications solutions for the customers of BLU Networks Consultancy Limited.  This will include the delivery of solution design documents and customer proposals.
  • Presentation of solutions to customers and prospective customers of BLU Networks Consultancy Limited.  This will involve the use of presentations, face to face customer meetings, webinars or other available technologies.
  • Implementation of network communications solutions for the customers of BLU Networks Consultancy Limited.  The implementations will include on-site and off-site work (at customer’s locations).  This implementation may be as part of a team or alone.
  • Providing solutions support for customers of BLU Networks Consultancy Limited.  BLU Networks Consultancy Limited provides support to its existing customers, this support requires both on-site and off-site (at customer’s location) presence.
  • Constantly participating in recurring training and development initiatives to ensure that the required level of expertise / certifications are achieved and maintained.  The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that he/she is consistently trained in the respective technologies that will form part of his/her responsibilities.  BLU Networks Consultancy will provide the training platform and opportunities in accordance with a stringent training plan.  These technologies will be and are not limited to:
    • Enterprise and SMB Security Platforms
    • Enterprise and SMB Wireless Platforms
    • Enterprise an SMB Routing / Switching Platforms
    • Wireless Site Surveying and installations
  • Assist with sales administration within the company.  This will include the tracking of opportunities and adopting a sales focussed approach to the delivery of all solutions.

Qualifications: Degree in Information Technology or related field, at least 2 years experience in a related field, CCNA or other related Networking Certifications.
