Have you ever shared a snapshot of your workspace with someone and asked for their perspective? I recently did just that with a colleague, hoping to gain some fresh insights. Little did I know that their response would be a stark contrast to my vision.
As I showed them a photo of our bustling office, filled with projects in various stages of development, I posed a simple question: “What do you see?” To my surprise, their immediate observation was that of chaos – a messy room that seemingly required someone to clean up after us. Their diagnosis was confusion and a need for order.
Intrigued, I probed further, curious about the lens through which they viewed our workspace. Their response echoed a sentiment of disorder, a call for tidiness. It was a perspective from the outside, one that suggested a need for a cleaner, an organizer of chaos.
I found myself in a moment of reflection, contemplating their viewpoint. However, instead of succumbing to the perceived disorder, I took a moment to share my perspective. I explained that, through my lens, what I saw was not chaos but progress. Our office was a canvas of innovation, a hub where ideas converged into tangible solutions.
Order through my lens
In response to their observation of confusion, I laid out a different narrative. I described the multiple projects we were currently handling – four distinct businesses, each with its unique set of challenges and opportunities. Rather than seeing a messy room, I saw the groundwork for addressing diverse business concerns.
I pointed out the sets of equipment neatly arranged in our office, each corresponding to a specific client’s needs. These were not random objects cluttering our space; they were tools awaiting deployment for the efficient and secure telecommunication solutions we were crafting. It was a testament to our commitment to delivering tailored solutions for our clients.
As they stood there, still grappling with the apparent disorder, I shared my perspective on the evolution of our workload. There was a time when we didn’t juggle multiple projects simultaneously, but now we do. This, to me, was a clear sign of growth, a manifestation of success.
What they perceived as confusion, I recognized as the orchestration of progress. The simultaneous handling of diverse projects spoke to our adaptability and capacity to cater to the unique needs of each client. I saw the order in the intricate web of tasks that needed to be managed.
In essence, I saw beyond the surface clutter – I saw the potential, the promise of success in the midst of what might appear as disorder to an outsider. The projects we were currently engaged in were not a burden but an opportunity for continuous growth.
So, forgive me if I don’t see the need for a cleaner or if the apparent disarray seems organized chaos to my eyes. I am looking through a different lens – one that recognizes the beauty of complexity, the order within apparent disorder, and the success story unfolding in the midst of what some might perceive as confusion.
As we navigate through the challenges of managing multiple projects, each contributing to the growth of our business, I remain steadfast in my belief that what may seem chaotic to some is, in fact, a symphony of progress, and success in the making.

Love it!!!
Thank you Danielle
I have fallen prey to the idea that my work space should look neat and tidy all the time, and have even sacrificed the progress and innovation that comes with the “messy” in order to present well to others. This post really made my day.
I am glad it has helped. Have a great day
